Before joining ELWCC, Tonya was coach of Myrtle Beach Swim team, a year round competitive team located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  She began swimming at the age of 4 in a small town outside of Myrtle Beach.  She continued through high school and while attending the University of South Carolina.  Before graduating from USC’s Coastal Carolina campus in Myrtle Beach she began an internship with the City of Myrtle Beach’s Aquatic program coaching MBST.  During her 8 year career at Myrtle Beach some of her accomplishments included being named Age group Coach of the year, coach at S.C. Zones, and was elected as S.C. Swimming chair member.    She has coached High School, Masters, Senior, and age group swimming taking swimmers to meets including J.O., Zone, and State qualifying times.  Some of Tonya’s affiliations include:  ASCA, USA Swimming, South Carolina Swimming, USA Southern Zone, US Masters Swimming, USLA, and USA Special Olympics.  She is excited to become a part of the ELWCC Eels and looking forward to promoting hard work and loads of fun with the swimmers.
